Integrity, Rigor, and Transparency
infermieristica journal adopts a rigorous advertising policy to safeguard the scientific integrity of the journal and provide readers with reliable, high-quality content. We only accept advertisements that meet the highest ethical, professional, and legal standards, complying with relevant national and international regulations. Below are the fundamental principles governing the management of advertising spaces.
Acceptance of Advertisements
We accept only advertisements strictly related to the healthcare and nursing sector. Each advertising proposal must be accompanied by valid documentation proving:
- Compliance with national and international regulations, such as Directive 2005/29/EC on unfair commercial practices and Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices.
- Support by solid scientific evidence, in line with the ICH E6 Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- The absence of misleading, deceptive, or unethical information.
Advertisements that do not meet these criteria will be rejected without exception.
Clarity and Disclosure of Advertising Content
All advertisements will be clearly marked as such. Readers must easily identify sponsored content through labels such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored Content,” in accordance with Article 7 of Directive 2005/29/EC, which mandates transparency in commercial communications. This ensures a clear distinction between editorial and advertising content, avoiding ambiguity.
Scientific Review and Transparency
Each advertisement undergoes a thorough review by our editorial board and, if necessary, by independent experts. Advertising materials must:
- Be accurate and verifiable.
- Not include unsubstantiated claims, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 on food information to consumers and other sector-specific regulations.
- Respect the rules of regulatory bodies such as the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Advertisements violating these principles will be rejected with no possibility of appeal.
Prohibition of Controversial or Unethical Content
We will not accept advertisements that:
- Promote products or services unrelated to the healthcare sector.
- Contain offensive, discriminatory, or unethical content, contrary to the values of the nursing profession as defined in the ICN Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Conflict with the goals of safety and quality in nursing practice.
Conflicts of Interest and Sponsorships
Any advertisement or sponsorship will be accompanied by a clear statement of potential conflicts of interest. Attempts to influence editorial content through advertising funding will not be tolerated, in line with the COPE Guidelines (Committee on Publication Ethics).
Reader Protection
Reader trust and privacy are our top priorities. We do not collect or share personal information for advertising purposes without explicit user consent, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
